I Want a New Drug

We've all heard about our nation's crushing opioid epidemic, and millions have had their lives touched by its effects, either personally, or through a family member or loved one. But this is where hope comes in. Valerie Norton, MD, Chief Operations Executive Physician at Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, who served as chair of the Scripps Opioid Stewardship Program, will give us the rundown on two major initiatives in the medical community: treatment options for those of us who are currently suffering from opioid dependency, and prevention efforts to keep the rest of us from developing opioid dependency after an illness or injury.
