The Sunday Assembly

Sunday Assembly communities are most well-known for their monthly "Sunday Assembly," which has live music, a program with a speaker and MC, social time with food, and FREE child care (yes, you read that right!). And we usually stream these on Zoom! We often have free lunch events after, with opportunities to win the coveted Best Chili, Best Cookie, or Best Soup trophies.

But we also typically have other events throughout the month that involve food, community service, physical activity, and opportunities to meet new people and stay connected with each other. Check us out on Meetup, and we'll see you there.

Stuff we do:

Join us in celebrating Winter Solstice!❄️ This particular date is [adjacent to] the longest night 🌛 of the year! Traditionally, Winter Solstice has been a celebration of light.🔆 That's because every succeeding night will be just a bit shorter and every day a might bit longer.

Wish to share a delightful holiday meal 🍽 with fun people? Play fun games 🃏 with delightful game players? Enjoy delightful AND fun entertainment? You can do all of these things on a second Saturday to avoid other major year-end holidays. Please join us for a rich evening of community, fun, and tradition, including a streamlined version of the program Brighter Than Today: A Secular Solstice. 🎶 🎤

Tickets are $15, but kids under 5 are free 🆓. You will need to PURCHASE YOUR TICKET HERE BEFORE DECEMBER 11 in order to attend. And please consider buying a $10 pay-it-forward ticket, which allows attendance for members of the community who may not be able to attend otherwise. 🎁💙

This is a family-friendly event. We'll have a separate space with childcare provided with fun activities for the kiddos (though they are welcome to stay and celebrate with us).

San Diego is surrounded by beautiful nature, and a key part of #LiveBetter is getting out into it with walks, hikes, croquet, flying kites, and the like.

We are a fun, LGBTQ+ friendly dining group that gathers for good food and conversation at a different restaurant every first Sunday of the month. #LiveBetter

We mark key moments like the spring, summer, and fall solstice/equinoxes with a backyard potluck, and celebrate winter solstice with an evening of food, music, secular ritual, and community. #WonderMore

Look for other unique activities throughout the year like watching fireworks at our venue (with a glorious view of the bay), visits to comedy clubs, outdoor music and film events, game nights 🀄🎲, rummage sales, museum visits, and the like. #LiveBetter #WonderMore
