Sunday Assembly communities are most well-known for their monthly "Sunday Assembly," which has live music, a program with a speaker and MC, social time with food, and FREE child care (yes, you read that right!). And we usually stream these on Zoom! We often have free lunch events after, with opportunities to win the coveted Best Chili, Best Cookie, or Best Soup trophies.
But we also typically have other events throughout the month that involve food, community service, physical activity, and opportunities to meet new people and stay connected with each other. Check us out on Meetup, and we'll see you there.
Sunday Assembly San Diego is an inclusive, non-religious community that meets to hear thoughtful talks, connect for service projects, sing songs, and generally celebrate life (with snacks). Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome. AND!! Free child care for ages 1.5 and up is available at every Assembly.
February's assembly speaker:
We all know that bees play an essential role in our ecosystem, but thereโs another group of dedicated, busy beings that play a role: beekeepers! Eric Robinson, founder of San Diego Beekeeping Society, will regale us with tales of the life, love, and drama of bees and beekeepers. He will toss some bee biology in there, the history of bees and our dependence on their pollination for our food supply, and bee preservation efforts. Come for the bees, stay for the community.
Here's the Zoom link for anyone who wants to attend online.
Stay after the assembly for coffee, snacks, and our 7th annual CHILI COOKOFF, where you can compete for a legit Best Chili trophy. The eating is totally free, but if you want to judge the entries, that will be $10, thankyouverymuch. Please RSVP for that separately here, and check out the details.
Some of the best community time is staying after the assembly for coffee and snacks and to hang out with other assemblers, so please do.
