Sunday Assembly communities are most well-known for their monthly "Sunday Assembly." In San Diego, we get together on the 3rd Sunday of each Month. Our gatherings usually feature live music, a guest speaker (often a professor or researcher), social time with snacks, and FREE child watch (yes, you read that right!). We often have free lunch events after, with opportunities to win the coveted Best Chili, Best Cookie, or Best Soup trophies.
We also typically have other events throughout the month that involve food, community service, physical activity, and opportunities to meet new people and stay connected with each other. Check us out on Meetup, and we'll see you there!
Sunday Assembly San Diego is an inclusive, non-religious community that meets to hear thoughtful talks, connect for service projects, sing songs, and generally celebrate life (with snacks). Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome. AND!! Free child watch for ages 1.5 and up is available at every Assembly.
Whether you went to summer camp in your youth or not, this assembly hopes to provide a peak campfire experience with a fun summer activity for the kids. (Full disclosure: the kids are us.) Will there be "bug juice"? No. Will there be a real, actual campfire? Also no. But there will be you, and a bunch of your closest (or soon be to closest?) Sunday Assembly community members to sing songs with and eat s'mores with and get to know in an end-of-summer chill session. That summer feeling might be over soon, but it's never too late to tap into your inner child's wonder and delight.
Some of the best community time is staying after the assembly for chatting, coffee, snacks -- and this time, S'MORES -- so please do.
This will be in-person only, no Zoom. See you Zoomblers in September!
Before the assembly, we will have our inaugural pancake breakfast fundraiser, an opportunity to nosh and get to know each other across the breakfast table. To join us for breakfast, please RSVP HERE on Meetup and buy your ticket HERE! There will only be 25 tickets available: (20) $15 tickets ahead of time, and (5) $20 tickets at the door.
The Bankers Hill Club features an accessible facility, including accessible parking spots and bathrooms. There is ample off-street parking for all.
Have a sip/bite at a local coffee shop, and get to know one another and share stories. We welcome all who welcome all! #LiveBetter
Join us for our various community service efforts, like coastal cleanups at our adopted beach at South Shores, on Mission Bay, bringing food to people experiencing homelessness, and other projects. We are always looking for new opportunities to #Help Often, so please make suggestions!
