Our Speaker: Dr. Tatum Simonson

Dr. Tatum Simonson from the Division of Physiology at the UCSD School of Medicine will focus on genetic and physiological adaptations in populations that have lived at high altitudes for hundreds of generations. Her report “Genetic Evidence for High-Altitude Adaptation in Tibet” appeared in the journal Science.

Dr. Simonson will review her research for us and add  her experience from spending the summer of 2015 in the Andes.
