Join us in celebrating Winter Solstice! It's the longest night of the year! (Unless, of course, you celebrate on the second Saturday in December for scheduling reasons. *ahem*) Traditionally, Winter Solstice has been a celebration of light. That's because every night following will be just a bit shorter and every day a bit longer!
Want to share a delightful meal with fun people? Play fun games with delightful people? Enjoy some delightful AND fun entertainment? You can do all of these things on a second Saturday to avoid other major year-end holidays. (Like we said, scheduling reasons!) Please join us for a rich evening of community, fun, and tradition, including a customized version of the program Brighter Than Today: A Secular Solstice.
Tickets are on sale now for $10! (see the top of the page) Kids under 5 are free!
No need to print anything, just check in at the door! Regular $10 ticket sales close on Thursday 12/7 with a limited number of day-of tickets available for $15 at the door.
Please consider buying a pay-it-forward ticket. This will allow us to offer sponsored tickets to members of the community who may not be able to attend otherwise. We would also welcome any end of the year tax deductible donation that you might like to contribute.
This is a family-friendly event. We'll have a separate space with childcare provided with fun activities for the kiddos (though they are welcome to stay and celebrate with us).

Masks are now optional, but please be boosted, testing before you come is encouraged, and if you have a cough or feel sick, please stay home.

SILENT AUCTION FUND RAISER - bid high, bid often!
This is a fundraiser to help cover costs of this event as well as future operational costs. Bid high! Bid often!
We are taking donation items for the Silent Auction. Suggested donations include: Gift baskets you make, books and art and music, home decorations, games and puzzles, jewelry, gift cards, gift certificates for experiences, tickets to events, homemade food goods like canned fruit or baked items. One rule of thumb is to make sure it's a gift you'd personally give to a friend or that you'd like to receive from a friend (after all, that is who will be bidding on the items).
Contact Gracie Soden (619) 490-3452 or [email protected] or send the SASD Facebook page a message with your ideas, planned donations, or questions. Silent auction donations can be dropped off ahead of time at two addresses. Contact Gracie for more details about the drop-off locations. Items can also be dropped off at the November Birthday in the Park Celebration on 11/19 or at the venue on the day of the event. For same day drop-offs please try to deliver them early so that the auction items can be arranged and the starting bids determined prior to the 5 pm start time.
