“Living in the Multiverse: Are You a Simulation?”
Brian G. Keating, Astrophysicist
Brian Keating, Professor of Physics at UCSD's Center for Astrophysics & Space Sciences (CASS), is joining us for a command performance and will talk about advances in computing that, if extrapolated following current trends, will lead almost certainly to simulated forms of existence.
Brian Keating is also Co-Director of the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Program in Astrophysics.
He has more awards than we could possibly fit here, but one really cool one is a 2006 White House Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists & Engineers.
