In 10 years of assemblies, so many of you have asked if there will be a Sunday Assembly in North County, and you're in luck! A venue offered their space, and we are super excited to announce a 5th-Sunday-of-the-Month Assembly! A very progressive church in Carlsbad is welcoming Sunday Assembly into its LGBTQ+ loving space and we are honored that they are letting Sunday Assembly use their 10 AM service slot.

For this test flight, we are chuffed to invite back a previous speaker, Dr. Grant Deane. If you saw him before, c'mon up and join us, and if you missed him last fall, here's another chance! And stay late for the snacks and caffeine, and feel free to bring food to share. There's a lovely patio out back to mingle on afterwards.

The Curious Role of Bubbles in our Lives

Bubbles are everywhere, from champagne to the seashore. They make us laugh and they are a joy to behold. All the musical qualities of water, from the babbling brook to the crashing wave, are the birth songs of bubbles. However, they have a more serious side. Bubbles from whitecaps on wind-driven seas connect the ocean to the atmosphere and create clouds and ice. They carry carbon dioxide into the ocean and they change the brightness of the planet itself. Grant Deane, Research Oceanographer at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, will talk about the role of ocean bubbles on weather and climate and discuss how bubbles bursting from glacier ice might help us better understand sea level rise.

Sunday Assembly San Diego is an inclusive non-religious community that meets monthly to hear inspirational talks, connect for service projects, sing songs and generally celebrate life. Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
