This 100th Assembly in San Diego (holy French toast, people! 100?!?) will be in-person AND streaming online. Our venue is located at the Bankers Hill Club House at 3030 Front St, San Diego, CA 92103. Online streaming will happen over Zoom. The program starts at 11:00 am. Because of the current triple threat of COVID, the flu, and RSV, masks are strongly recommended when in person.
Immediately after this assembly, we will use our 100th assembly celebration as an excuse to hang out at the venue with music and potluck food and good company. This is a separate Meetup event, please RSVP for it here.
Seeing the Sound of the Big Bang
Modern astronomers speak with quite a lot of confidence about the physical properties of our Universe. We know its age and composition to surprising levels of precision, and can say a great deal about the evolution of the Universe over cosmic time. In many respects, we know more about the earliest era of the Universe than we do about much more mundane aspects of everyday existence here on Earth.
Dr. Eric Huff of Jet Propulsion Laboratory will provide an overview of how we know so much about the most remote regions and times in the cosmos, and explain how and why we can see the afterglow of the Big Bang — called the Cosmic Microwave Background — and what it tells us about our own origins.

In the corner of the box with your face in it, you can choose to hide yourself from your view, so you won't find looking at yourself so distracting. Also, it'll make more space on your screen to see others.
You may (but don't have to) RSVP on Meetup.
Sunday Assembly San Diego is an inclusive non-religious community that meets monthly to hear inspirational talks, connect for service projects, sing songs and generally celebrate life. Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
We are located at the Bankers Hill Club, which features an accessible facility, including accessible parking spots and bathrooms.
Stay after the assembly for a low-key shindig, really just using our 100th assembly as an excuse to mingle and talk and eat and be humans together.
We can't wait to see you all!
