This will be an in-person as well as an online-streaming Assembly. Our venue is located at the Bankers Hill Club House at 3030 Front St, San Diego, CA 92103. Online streaming will happen over Zoom. The program starts at 11:00 am. Because of the current triple threat of COVID, RSV, and Flu, masks are strongly recommended.
Anthropogeny - Explaining the Origins of the Planet Altering Ape
It took over 200,000 years to reach a human population of one billion, but just 200 years to reach 8 billion. Humans have become directly responsible for the sixth mass extinction and for driving climate change, and Pascal Gagneux, Professor of Pathology and Anthropology at UCSD, will explain the human traits that got us to this point. Will our capacity for pro-social behavior, empathy, and imagination allow us to find urgently-needed solutions for averting several existential crises of our own making?

In the corner of the box with your face in it, you can choose to hide yourself from your view, so you won't find looking at yourself so distracting. Also, it'll make more space on your screen to see others.
You may (but don't have to) RSVP on Meetup.
Sunday Assembly San Diego is an inclusive non-religious community that meets monthly to hear inspirational talks, connect for service projects, sing songs and generally celebrate life. Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
We are located at the Bankers Hill Club, which features an accessible facility, including accessible parking spots and bathrooms.
Stay after the assembly for coffee, snacks and to hang out with other assemblers, but for lunch, we are eating at Barrio Star after the Assembly! That info is in a separate Meetup event:
We can't wait to see you all!
