This is being planned for an in-person AND online streaming Assembly. Like always, SASD will follow the county guidelines for COVID safety, at a minimum.
Reminder: we are having a Book Swap right after the assembly! https://www.meetup.com/sunday-assembly-san-diego/events/287678160/
Change is coming. There is an important innovation nestled within the Christian landscape today. Reverend Madison T. Shockley II of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ will share his experience and thoughts on what has become known as "Progressive Christianity," a radical departure from the traditional understanding of Christianity. Rev. Shockley's congregation is made up of 21% atheists/agnostics. Wearing the label of heretic proudly, progressive churches like Pilgrim United share a secular ethic rooted in evidence and critical thinking. In the world of interfaith work, progressive churches overlap quite a bit with secular communities and, perhaps surprisingly, not nearly as much with conservative evangelicals who share the title of Christian. Rev. Shockley will show us what it might look like if we started working together for a better world.

In the corner of the box with your face in it, you can choose to hide yourself from your view, so you won't find looking at yourself so distracting. Also, it'll make more space on your screen to see others.
You may (but don't have to) RSVP on Meetup.
Sunday Assembly San Diego is an inclusive non-religious community that meets monthly to hear inspirational talks, connect for service projects, sing songs and generally celebrate life. Assemblies are free to attend, and everyone is welcome.
We are located at the Bankers Hill Club, which features an accessible facility, including accessible parking spots and bathrooms.
Stay after the assembly for coffee, snacks and to hang out with other assemblers, but for lunch, we are eating at Barrio Star after the Assembly! That info is in a separate Meetup event:
We can't wait to see you all!
