SUNDAY ASSEMBLY WITH ALEXIS DIXON
It's a new world, with all the innovative and developing technological powers of which the sharpest human minds can conceive. In order for us to live peacefully, we must find new ways of managing conflict in our corporate, community, family, and global circles. However, as mediator Alexis Dixon will describe, our ego and its inability to forgive is a major obstacle in our effective navigation of interactions with our fellow humans.
TODAY'S SPEAKER: ALEXIS DIXON
Mr. Dixon has extensive experience in varied approaches, tools, and activities in alternative dispute resolution, mediation, and facilitation, including community and corporate facilitation. He provides a wide range of facilitation and conflict management strategies to both nonprofit and private sector clients and facilitates organizational improvement in teams. He has served on the board of directors at the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC) and was a facilitator for the San Diego Race Human Relations Commission. His extensive experience provides him with a unique understanding of the practical and adaptive concerns of his clients. Mr. Dixon received his mediation training at Harvard University while working closely with Green-Save, Save the Children International, Grenada, and The West Indies on an executive leadership team, creating a sustainable organization ecosystem. He was recognized by the NCRC in 2007, and was invited to be a member of the team that enacted mediation in policing with the San Diego Police Department, subsequent to the Seattle riots. He's a board member of the Thomas Ackerman Foundation, Wisdom, and Mediation & Dialogue Foundation, and serves on a committee for the La Jolla Playhouse.
